STARTING SCHOOL

LITTLE TUIS

New Entrants - Ruma 4

At Whanganui East School we run our Little Tūi’s Programme every Friday Morning from 8.55 am to 10.30 am.

This is where our future students get to experience school life by participating in our Morning Tikanga, our Literacy programme and get to join our junior Kapa Haka group as well.

We have an open-door policy and encourage our families to come and visit our classroom at various times so that their children can experience what school looks like across the school day.

We encourage families to have at least 4 visits before their child starts school and we are flexible and work with families as to what day best suits them to visit our classroom.

In Ruma 4 we have two pet rabbits, Milo and Elmo, who come to visit us throughout the week.  We have a private playground and sandpit that is attached to our classroom, which is fully shaded and a wonderful place to play during the school day.  We run a play-based environment whilst working in buddy groups to promote teamwork, and our school values: Respect Others, Respect Themselves, and Respect our Environment.

If you wish to come and visit Ruma 4 please contact our school office and we will arrange a time that best suits you and your child.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. Ray
